Whole Body Cryotherapy will take your recovery game to the next level.

Modern people train and work hard, but not many pay attention to proper recovery strategies. During a 3 minute treatment you will experience temperatures as low as -140C; which will maximise your recovery, help manage inflammation and give you the best nights sleep you’ve had in months.

Whether you are struggling with an injury or are looking to ease symptoms of; MS, ME, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Long Covid, Arthritis, Repetitive Strain Injury, or skin issues such as eczema (especially Topical Steroid Withdrawl) – Cryotherapy is well worth a go!

How does it work?

A Cryo Chamber delivers the cold using liquid nitrogen which cools the air in the chamber.  While this only affects the surface of the skin, it’s enough for your body to trigger it’s thermoreceptors – which tells your body you are freezing. This process switches your body into defensive mode; sending your body’s blood, nutrients and other resources to where they’re needed.

The treatments are completely safe, manageable for even the least cold-tolerant and can be done multiple times a week.

Clients will often see instant results once they step out of the Cryotherapy Chamber, whilst many reporting a sense of euphoria as they naturally warm back up.

Looking for a way to supercharge your recovery?

You’re Not Alone and Cryotherapy is now here in Stockport.

Whether it’s from hard training, injuries or manual work, inflammation builds up and slows us down.

Not dealing with inflammation properly is a surefire way to limit your performance and prolong your recovery.

There are a number of ways of dealing with inflammation – rest being the most obvious – but Cryotherapy offers a quick and convenient way of maximising your recovery.

During a 3-minute treatment in our Cryo Chamber you will experience temperatures as low as -140C and follow in the footsteps of UFC fighters, NBA Stars, World Champion Boxers and Premier League Footballers who are all using Cryotherapy as part of their regime.

What Other Benefits are there?

Another benefit of Cryotherapy is that it can help improve your sleep.  Proper sleep is an integral part of recovery, regardless of whether you are an athlete or not.  According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) – 1 in 3 adults don’t get enough sleep.  Whole-Body Cryotherapy is a great way to boost your sleep quality. Almost all clients say they slept much better and deeper than they have in weeks, even months the night of a treatment. While many who track their sleep metrics report that the amount of REM and Deep Sleep increases following a treatment.

Not only that but we have had great success with easing the symptoms of MS, ME, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Long Covid, Arthritis, Repetitive Strain Injury, plus skin issues such as eczema (especially Topical Steroid Withdrawl).

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

You will enter the chamber in a pair of socks, our slippers and in your underwear – we provide a changing area and your privacy is assured.

All we ask is to bring a pair of socks and some underwear – we will provide the slippers, gloves and a robe.

Please note: ladies ideally need to wear a sports bra or be sure that the metal in the bra isn’t exposed. Some women do go in topless entering the chamber in a robe and passing the robe to our staff once inside the chamber and again putting the robe on after the treatment has finished. Your privacy is assured.

You can use the chamber whenever you like but we do advise that athletes go in around workouts and on rest days to maximise the benefits.

The Cryo Chamber WILL help with recovery after a tough work-out but you want your body to naturally cool the body down first, so we suggest at least a gap of around 10-15 minutes after a tough class. This gives you time to cool down and also dry off, as sweat and -140C don’t mix well.

Yes. Cryotherapy is safe and our staff will ensure your safety from start to finish. The liquid nitrogen cools the air that circulates around your body in the chamber, whilst your head stays above breathing the air in the treatment room.

So you know, liquid nitrogen is dense and will not rise above the chamber rather sink down where it will be extracted.

Cold but manageable – it isn’t an endurance exercise. Our staff are on hand to help you through the 3 minutes and the screen besides your head will display how long is left. You can ask for the treatment to be stopped at anytime but that is unlikely.

Studies have show that 2 – 3 minutes is all you need to reap the benefits of Cryotherapy. Any longer is unnecessary and would cost athletes more because we would need to use more liquid nitrogen during the treatment. At 3 minutes we get all the results we need, whilst keeping the price affordable. The first minute will drop you to around -minus 80C and then the last 2 minutes or so we will hold you around -110 to -120C to maximise the benefits.

There are lots of high profile athletes who are using Cryo Chambers to help with recovery and they include:

Cristiano Ronaldo, Floyd Mayweather, Lebron James, Wladimir Klitschko, Kobe Bryant, Henry Cejudo (UFC Champ), Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps, Conor Mcgregor, Mo Farah and Novak Djokovic.

There is also a cryochamber installed at the UFC Performance Institute, along with chambers at a number of Premier League, NBA and NFL practice facilities.

There are a few reasons why someone would be refused a treatment and they include:

If you are over 150kg / 23 stones in weight you would be refused a treatment as this is the limit on the lifting platform inside the chamber.

It is also not advised that pregnant women use our facilities after their first trimester.

If you have any metal plates or screws you can enter the chamber as long as they haven’t been put in over the last 12-18 months.

Finally we ask that anyone with any current or long term health issues must speak to their GP before booking a treatment.

The major differences are the temperature and the feeling.

As you will have read above our treatments will take you down to -140C, while an ice bath is around +10-15C (remember water freezes at 0C).

In terms of feeling: Cryotherapy is much easier to tolerate and does a lot of the same functions as an ice bath. An ice bath is physically and mentally very tough and because you are submerged you feel the cold a lot more despite it being a lot warmer than our chamber.

Both options are hugely beneficial but Cryotherapy is much more convenient, manageable and offers the same benefits for just 3 minutes versus up to 30-40 minutes in an ice bath.
